Spring 2017 Training Class - It’s All About Puppies!

Delightful Dog proudly announces a new training program for puppies 8-16 weeks of age!


"Puppy Beginnings" 
Fundamentals and Socialization Class.

A 4-week puppy class!! Perfect!!! It’s exactly what you need to start learning the basics and get both you and your puppy off on the right paw.

Here’s what you need to know:

  • Begin Date: Saturday February 25, 2017

  • Time: 11:30am -12:30pm

  • Nbr of consecutive weeks: 4

  • Cost: $150.00

  • Pre-registration is required. Check with Delightful Dog on how to register. (once class is filled you can be put on a waiting list)

Requirements and Equipment

  • 6 ft Leash (not retractable);

  • Collar (no choke/pinch) or Harness preferred (may be available at D.D.)

  • Small, Soft, Yummy Treats;

  • Treat Pouch;

  • Puppies must be between 8 and 16 weeks of age with shots up to date; (records will be required)

  • Minimum for Class is 3/Maximum for Class is 8

  • An ‘Orientation’ handout or video will be emailed prior to class.

Each class includes information to help you and your puppy to get through puppyhood and effectively bond with you puppy.

The first 15 minutes of each class will be dedicated to playtime. During the play session, trainers will discuss canine body language, answer your questions, and offer helpful tips. We strongly believe that training for your puppy should be a fun time for all involved. Our training style uses only effective positive-style techniques, such as Clicker, Marker, and Lure-Reward.

Each class will also include a variety of topics for discussion and we will be there to answer your questions. Handouts and sometimes videos on the topics discussed may also be emailed to you following the class. Upon completion of the course each person will receive a Diploma. Some of the topics covered over the four-week program include:

Management & Rearing

  • Crate training

  • House Training

  • Biting & Mouthing

  • Destructive Chewing

  • Socialization

  • Tips on avoiding common puppy pitfalls early

  • And much more……

Fundamental Behaviors include:

  • Sit/Down/Stand

  • Come when called

  • Name Recognition

  • Handling techniques for grooming and vet visits

  • Hand Targeting and Collar Grabs

  • Leave It

  • And more……
