Our Core Group Training Classes

Now that you're familiar with our trainers, here is a list of our training classes and what each one is all about:

Puppy Play School 1

3 weeks/ one hour a week/ $90

This class is offered intermittently based on demand. If you are interested in training for a puppy under 16 weeks of age, we also offer a nursery day program for socialization, beginning training, and enrichment.

Puppies must be under 14 weeks old on the first day of class and have begun their scheduled vaccinations including bordetella. They must be in good health and show no signs of illness. It is required that puppies have lived in their new home for at least two weeks before the start of class. The focus is on proper socialization, how puppies learn, reading body language, playing nicely with other puppies, appropriate adult dogs and people as well as other puppies, including nipping, crate training, and house training.

Puppy Play School 2

3 weeks/ one hour a week/ $90

Puppies must have completed Puppy Play School 1 and be under 16 weeks old on the first day of class. They must be current on all scheduled vaccinations including bordetella. Puppies must be in good health and show no signs of illness. The focus is on continuing socialization with introduction of learning good puppy manners like sitting when asked, leaving an object alone, paying attention, sitting or standing politely for attention and other polite puppy issues.

Manners 1

5 weeks/ one hour a week/ $175

For dogs over 4 months old, in good health and current on all vaccines. THe curriculum focuses on the foundation work for a well-mannered dog: pay attention, sit, leave it, down, stay, emergency recall, and beginning to walk nicely on a leash as well as communication, how dogs learn, and polite greetings.

Terrific Teens

5 weeks/ one hour a week/ $175

For dogs 6 to 24 months old, in good health and current on all vaccines.

Dogs must have completed Manners 1.

This is applied manners for young dogs and the focus is on how to help your dog work with you in spite of distractions and exciting events around them. Adolescence is a trying time for dogs and their families. This class helps you not only survive but enjoy your dog’s teenage period.

Rally Obedience 1

5 weeks/ one hour a week/ $175

For dogs that have completed Manners 1, in good health and current on all vaccines. This teaches the basics of this fun and exciting team sport for dogs and their handlers. Dogs and handlers learn some of the more advanced cues needed to work toward navigating a course with numbered signs and different obedience activities at each station.

Canine Good Citizen

5 weeks/ one hour a week/ $175

This class is offered intermittently based on demand.

For dogs who have completed Manners 1 in good health and current on all vaccines. The focus is on preparing for the CGC test which will be conducted on class 5.
